Jun 29, 2024

Hello, how are you? I'm Carlos Valdez, the founder and director of "Mercadotecnia y Ventas," and in this video blog on Friday, June 28, 2024, we will talk about how to write strategic branding prompts for marketing and sales.

What is Prompt Engineering?

Prompt Engineering is the process of designing how to generate an instruction for AI to perform an activity. Tomer Cohen, Chief Product Officer at LinkedIn, in his course Generative AI for Business Leaders in April 2024, says: "The best prompts tend to be specific, nuanced, and extremely well-articulated."

Gartner says that the 3Cs of Prompt Engineering are to be clear, concise, and provide context.

To write strategic branding prompts, share your mission, value proposition, and positioning statement with ChatGPT.

Mission:

A company's mission statement is a concise expression that defines the fundamental purpose of the organization, explaining what it does, whom it serves, and how it does it. This statement communicates the company's reason for being and establishes a guide for all its decisions and strategic activities.

Our mission at "Mercadotecnia y Ventas" is: "To educate and inspire students, academia, and professionals in the areas of marketing and sales through innovative and practical content, for the development of essential skills for generating value."

Value Proposition:

The value proposition is a clear and concise statement that explains how a product or service solves problems, meets needs, or provides benefits to customers, and why they should choose it over the alternatives offered by the competition.

"Mercadotecnia y Ventas" is an educational portal dedicated to providing high-quality training in the areas of marketing and sales for generating value.

Positioning Statement:

It is a clear and concise expression that defines how a brand, product, or service differentiates itself from its competitors and occupies a specific place in the minds of consumers.

Example of Positioning Statement: "For [target audience], [product name] is the [market category] that [key benefit] because [differentiation]."

For students, academia, and professionals, "Mercadotecnia y Ventas" is the educational portal that educates and inspires for the development of essential skills for generating value through innovative and practical content.

In their article "Marketing Malpractice," Dr. Clayton Christensen, Scott Cook, and Taddy Hall say: "To build brands that mean something to customers, you need to associate them with products that mean something to customers."

By having specific, clear, concise, extremely well-articulated, nuanced prompts and providing the appropriate context, and sharing your mission, value proposition, and positioning statement, you will achieve better results with your prompts that will help your brand and product mean something to your consumer.

AI can be your competitive advantage, so learn, and use it. If you don't, your competitor is very likely already doing so.

Thank you for your attention and remember that at "Mercadotecnia y Ventas," we must always generate value.

Until next time.
